Wear Last, Remove First
Put your jewelry on last—after applying makeup, perfume, lotions etc. and take it off first when you arrive home. This helps prevent exposure to chemicals and liquids that can dull or damage your jewelry over time.
Avoid Water and Liquids
Avoid exposing jewelry to water, lotions, creams, perfumes, sweat, and other liquids. Moisture and chemicals can cause tarnishing, discoloration, or damage over time. If your jewelry does get wet, be sure to wipe it dry immediately with a soft cloth.
Proper Storage
Store your jewelry a pouch or a sealed Ziploc bag to protect it from air and moisture. For sterling silver, use anti-tarnish strips or cloths to maintain its shine. When tarnished or oxidized, use a treated jewelry polishing cloth for quick, effective cleaning, or gently scrub with a soft toothbrush dipped in warm water.
